Local Produce
The shop stocks a wide range of products and has a policy of supporting local businesses and suppliers where possible. Milk, butter, eggs, bread, cakes, preserves, vegetables and greeting cards are all sourced from within a 25 mile radius.
Items sold in the shop were originally sourced following a market survey of the area. This has been added to in response to customer’s requests. The buying team is responsible for increasing and maintaining stock levels.
We also sell a wide variety of frozen fish. A certain level of stock is always kept in the shop but to get the benefit of the full range of fish available it is best to place an order. The fish is supplied to us by Hellaby foods and is of a high quality and compares very well with the fish available in local supermarkets.

The newest addition to locally produced stock is meat from Court Bleddyn Farm. Pontypool. Court Bleddyn Farm is a well know supplier of quality meats, which regularly sells its products at farmers markets in the locality. This small family-run, mixed stock hill farm is 1000ft up and rears life-stock in a natural environment. Its beef, pork and lamb are indigenous or rare breeds and are raised with care and compassion, non-intensively, usually outdoors and taken to a trusted abattoir. Meat is then hung and prepared by their award winning butcher.
The farm concentrates on Welsh Black Beef, Badgerfaced Welsh Lamb and Tamworth pork. The shop now stocks a range of frozen meats in both large and small cuts which are suitable for those living on there own.
