Car Treasure Hunt 2009
The treasure hunt took place on May Bank Holiday Monday and much fun was had by all. Special thanks to Simon Brook and Sons for organising such a wonderful afternoon's entertainment, and to the Rock and Fountain for letting us invade armed with nettles and fir cones!
Sponsored Abseil 2008
On a very wet and windy Saturday in April, some intrepid people from Penhow and their friends braved the dizzying heights of the cliff at the National Diving and Activity center in Chepstow to do a sponsored abseil to help raise funds to revamp Penhow playing fields. These intrepid people successfully negotiated the 200ft cliff, and raised £700 for the village. A big thank you to all who took part!

Village Fete 2008
On a very changeable day in July, the Penhow Fete and Craft competitions went ahead, despite some misgivings about the weather forecast. It was a brilliant day, and a big thank you goes from the organisers to all those brave souls who turned up to support the event, and to help with the running of the various stalls. Also, a thank you goes to Councillor Simon Lane who generously donated £500 from his community fund to go towards the cost of holding the event. Unfortunately, no profit was made on the event this year, but we are not deterred.

Village Fete 2007
Our first large Event was the Summer Show which took place on the Parc Seymour playing fields in June. It was a fun-packed day, and a roaring success, raising over £6000. We couldn't have done it without the support of the Villagers and local groups such as Penhow Community Council, Scouts, W.I. and Cllr David Atwell, as well as a multitude of local businesses. There were many stalls, games and even a Dog Show and Tug-o-War in the main ring, there were plenty of amusements for everyone.

The daytime Events were followed by Ceilidh dancing, hog roast, bar and auction, and the fun continued until midnight.
Christmas Fayre 2007
|
Christmas arrived with a splash in Penhow with the Christmas Fayre in St. John’s Hall on December 1st. The Hall was transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with tinsel and Christmas lights adorning the walls, traditional Christmas music playing, and a generous flow of mince pies and mulled wine. |
|
There were some excellent buys to be had on the Phoenix Cards, Usbourne Books and Simply Christmas stalls. Thanks to the kind donations of Villagers we also had a very popular tombola, and second hand book stall, but the winner with the children was the 'naughty but nice' chocolate fountain. Inspite of the awful weather conditions the Event was very well supported, and with great thanks to all those that attended we raised nearly £300 towards the cost of re-developing the park at Penhow. We would like to thank all of the Stallholders, volunteers, and of course the W.I. for their beautiful mince pies. |
